STEVE COOPER / Managing Director / Cadastral Surveyor - Bach (Surv)

Graduated in 1980 & became a Licensed Surveyor in 1986. Created Steve Cooper & Associates in 1993, and since then has grown into its fourth office at South Brisbane consisting of 800m2 of office space and approximately 27 staff members. Steve's vast experience in the Surveying and Development Industry, combined with a track proven record, provides clients with a significant advantage in achieving the best development outcomes available.

KOWHAI TE RAUNA / Surveyor

Kowhai joined Steve Cooper and Associates in 2007. With over 15 years experience in the surveying industry, Kowhai has worked in many of the different facets of his profession, including cadastral, residential, major construction, infrastructure, and working directly with mining companies in open cut operations. With this vast amount of previous experience, Kowhai is a valued and trusted member of the team who is able to lend his experience to any aspect of the company's operations.

CHRIS LEWIS / Town Planner - B. Urb. Reg. Plan. (Hons)

Chris graduated from the Queensland University of Technology in December 2009, with a Bachelor in Urban Development - Urban and Regional Planning with Honours, and dual minors in Spatial Sciences and Applications. Chris began his time at Steve Cooper and Associates in 2007 whilst still completing his studies, and has gained valuable experience in all of the company's operations during this time. Having now completed undergraduate studies and gained valuable workplace experience in the process, Chris now looks forward to an enjoyable and rewarding career in the fields of Urban Development and Town Planning.

JASON P. WHITE / Senior Surveyor

Jason joined Steve Cooper and Associates in 2002 then progressed into his family business before rejoining the team in early 2009. Jason is registered with the Board of Surveyors and has experience in a variety of Engineering and Cadastral Surveying projects ranging from subdivision developments right through to major industrial estates and shopping centres. Jason is an extremely valued and experienced member of the Steve Cooper & Associates team.

JUSTIN KEMP / Set-Out Manager

Justin is studying part-time at the University of Southern Queensland towards a Bachelor of Spatial Science, majoring in Surveying. He joined the company in 2008 to expand his theoretical studies with practical experience in field work, drafting and calculations. He is involved in a variety of projects including residential, commercial and industrial developments; Cadastral Surveying and Engineering. Justin currently looks after set-out calculations, working closely with builders and designers to find workable solutions to their projects. Working with the senior surveyor, he is gaining valuable experience in a variety of work, including building format subdivisions, standard format subdivision, amalgamation surveys and boundary identification surveys. Justin is a highly motivated, professional & extremely valued member of the Steve Cooper & Associates team.

AARON SHINN / Dip. Applications Programming, Creative Writing

Aaron had five years of experience as a survey assistant prior to becoming a full time draftsperson. His work is supplemented with skills in software programming which he learnt as a hobby and later fortified with a Diploma in Applications Programming. From 2007 to 2009, his drafting skills were expanded when he became the chief draftsperson for a sheet piling company within the field of structural engineering. Aaron joined the team in early 2009 and has since written various functions in the visual basic language to compliment the drawing processes involved in the drafting department. He is proficient in drafting topographical surveys, as-constructed drawings and identification surveys. He has also become extremely adept at utilising and operating both Civilcad and Autocad.

BEN FEWTRELL / Drafting Manager

Ben joined Steve Cooper & Associates in 2008 and is responsible for the accurate and timely presentation and completion of all plans produced by the company. As the manager of the drafting department Ben regularly liaises with field surveyors, town planners and clients to seamlessly coordinate his highly efficient and professional drafting team. Ben's experience in the field as a surveying team leader provides an extensive foundation of knowledge that he keenly applies to the production of his cadastral and topographical plans. Ben has formal qualifications in CAD which is combined with over 10 years in the survey drafting profession. Ben is constantly advancing his skills as the Drafting Manager.
